RMRK Ecosystem Report — February, March 2023

Welcome to the RMRK Ecosystem Report for February and March 2023. These past two months have been marked with steady progress as we get closer to our initial EVM release.

In the technical development arena, we made significant strides in expanding the capabilities of RMRK NFTs on EVM. We have additional EIPs in review and have enabled RMRK NFT deployment to the zkSync Era TestNet.

On the Singular side, we have taken significant steps forward as well, with Singular EVM support entering an internal QA period and the addition of our new Artist Advocate, Magusz. In content and community, we have hosted engaging events and released insightful videos to continue building and growing our community.

Technical Development

• We now have two additional EIPs in review: ERC-6454, which proposes minimalistic non-transferable NFTs (Soulbound), and ERC-6381, which introduces an emotable extension for non-fungible tokens.
• RMRK NFTs can now be deployed to zkSync Era TestNet, expanding the network’s NFT capabilities. Watch the workshop where RMRK EVM dev Jan Turk shows how you to use Nestable and MultiAsset RMRK legos on zkSync.
• We created a RMRK EVM template repo for deployments on zkSync, making it easier for developers to get started.
• The first video tutorial series on building custom implementations with RMRK on EVM is now complete, providing even more resources for developers to explore the advanced NFT capabilities of RMRK.

Singular

• Singular EVM support has entered an internal QA period, bringing us one step closer to release.
• We announced plans to sunset RMRK Kusama implementation, streamlining our focus on EVM.
• We also announced the sunsetting of the legacy RMRK 1.0 Singular website, as we continue to improve and upgrade our offerings.
• We welcomed Magusz to the team as our new Artist Advocate, and although Katarina will be missed, we’re excited to have Magusz onboard.

Content & Community

We have been working hard to create engaging content and build our community:

• We hosted a Brigada Event, showcasing some Singular artists in a one-of-a-kind NFT Showroom event.
• We published videos of RMRK at ETHDenver, including a recap of Day 1, a recap of Day 2, and Bruno Škvorc’s (RMRK co-founder) talk on the future of NFTs with RMRK.
• We also published an interview with the zkSync Head of Product, providing insights into the platform’s inner workings.
• We held an Artist Roundtable with new Artist Advocate Magusz, bringing together artists and creators to discuss the industry.
